Finding the Perfect Piece

When it comes to decorating your home, finding the perfect piece to tie a room together can be a challenge. We’ve asked the experts how they go about sourcing that unique console, perfectly sized side table or extraordinary lamp.

Gina Says: “Consider how the item will be used – if it can withstand pets, children or heavy traffic; if the upholstery will show every stain; if wood will fade in sunlight.”

Gina’s goal is to help every client build a cohesive, curated look, ofter using items from her boutique. The perfect piece, she says, is completely different for each client. Sometimes it’s something functional, other times it’s whimsical, exciting or simply aesthetically pleasing. Gina travels to furniture markets looking for unique items that identify with her customers’ personal style. She advises her customers to really think about whether that piece they love is just perfect for now or perfect over time, and if they can stand to let it go on the next move. If they can’t stand to leave the piece behind, they should make sure it will survive relocation.
