Annapolis Lifestyle – Nov/Dec 2012

Annapolis designer Gina Fitzsimmons, whose creative talents are displayed in the 700 square-foot combined kitchen/breakfast room and living room, echoed the regional theme with dramatic oyster-shell panels framing one of the home’s three gas fireplace.

“We were aiming for Chesapeake chic,” says Fitzsimmons, owner of her own design firm as well as Details of Design, a retail shop on Forest Drive that was her resource for the accessories, lamps and art works in her show house space.

Urban Design Group of Baltimore sent staff architect Danielle Larash to work her magic on the combined theatre, pool room and bar area in the basement. Teresa Buchanan of Designline, chose pale neutrals accented with aqua for the master bedroom and bath.

Tamika Felder of Redlef Group Architects in Latham chose bold colors in the upstairs boy’s baseball-themed bedroom, where the walls are painted ginger. A full bath connects to another child’s room, its feminine décor the work of Alexander Liff of Maryland Paint and Decorating. “Not only is this a beautiful show home but the unique green aspects of the project make it a first-of-its-kind experience,” said Michael S. McHale, president and CEO, Hospice of the Chesapeake. Proceeds from the project will support families in our community who are affected by advanced illness.” The house will be open for tours and special events until mid-November.
