How We Work

Approach

We approach each client with a single goal in mind – delivering professional results that work for you. To accomplish this, we spend time up front listening to the client and discussing functional needs, aesthetic preferences, mood, budget, timeframes, etc. The mutual understanding and relationship established in these up front sessions are the key to success throughout the project.

Once the goals are understood, the design process can begin. To achieve the desired effect, our designers draw from their professional training and experience and leverage the extensive resources of our design studio in Annapolis.

The results of our design include hand-drawn space plans, drawings, photographs and samples of the recommended furniture, materials, treatments, subcontractors and budget estimates. We will walk through these proposals in person with you and incorporate your feedback into a final proposal.

Once the design is agreed to, we will assist you in getting the project completed within your timeframe and budget agreed to. We will coordinate purchasing, delivery and arrangement of materials and subcontractor contributions.

Before we consider any project done, we have a final walkthrough with the client to ensure that expectations have been met.

Getting Started

We start work on your project at the "Initial Consultation". We sit down with you to help you determine the scope of work, we discuss your needs and preferences and work out the budget. We also take measurements and photographs and take all of the collected data to the drawing board to begin work on your project. Our minimum design fee for this stage is $400, which covers about four hours of time.

Pricing

To complete a formal design, we provide an estimated design fee. Depending on the scope of the project, a portion or all of this fee may be credited towards purchases of merchandise.

Because we own and operate our own retail furnishings stores, we are able to offer 20% discount off of manufacturer's suggested retail price on all furniture that is purchased as part of a design project.
